MK11 TOT's - April Fools' Day Towers (And Another Meteor)
by Roy Arkon on Apr 2, 2020 :: 0 Comments

Even in this very unique time that can lead to depression very easily, NetherRealm Studios still took full advantage of this year's April Fools, and oh boy they went above and beyond with this one.
The latest Mortal Kombat 11 Towers of Time platform, called the April Fools' Day Towers, features a series of 4 Boss-only Towers that are all under the common theme of April Fools, and they are full of Deception (as if Mortal Kombat: Deception), pranks and some blind luck. In fact, it all starts even before you start the fight, as when you pick your character, the announcer is gonna call the name of any other character but the one you chose, and your opponent is always gonna be disguised by a picture of a character that can't be selected.
First you fight against Jade (disguised by the Dinosaur that Kronika can use in the 2nd stage of the fight against her), then you fight against Johnny Cage (disguised by the Oni from the Kolosseum's Beast Pen stage), followed up by Erron Black (disguised by the Krypt Traveler from the Krypt), and finally, a series of 7 opponents in a Gauntlet match (all hide behind a picture of Shinnok, who can be seen in the first cutscene of the MK11 Story mode, as well as Jade's ending in the Klassic Tower Arcade mode).
Here is a video from my channel, showcasing me all 4 Towers after I've beat them with my Shang Tsung, Jade and Noob Saibot, along with time stamps. On a side note, remember the Meteor in the Towers of Time that we've reported about 4 months ago? I've seen it another one, as you can see in the video below.

00:00 - Shang Tsung Vs. Jade
02:46 - Another Meteor!
03:06 - Noob Saibot Vs. Johnny Cage
05:30 - Jade Vs. Erron Black
08:42 - Noob Saibot in the Gauntlet Match
Here are also some important tips for those Towers:
1) For all the first 3 Towers, you can't use any Konsumables. If you do, then their icon will be replaced by the one of Bo' Rai Cho's Fart Konsumable, and while the animation of the Konsumable will be shown after you have activated it, the actual effect will not happen, essentially indicating that you got pranked, April Fools style. Only the final Tower, which is the Gauntlet Tower, allows you to use Konsumables.
2) The 2nd Tower fight against Johnny Cage actually switches the control between you and the CPU, as you actually control Johnny while the CPU controls the character that you chose, as if going with an automatic AI-only option, but going one extra step further. Of course you can just not do anything as Johnny in the fight, but while the control over the characters are switched, the control of the Konsumables is still the same, so you are still stuck with the now defected version of Bo' Rai Cho's Fart Konsumable (as I've mentioned earlier) and the CPU still controls his Konsumables as usual, while aiming them against your selected character. Which means you need to hope that your character, now being controlled by CPU, will beat 'your' Johnny fast before 'your' Konsumables will beat 'the CPU' character, and will give the win to 'your' character. Also, don't pay attention to the Sindel Assist Konsumable that I've picked in my video, I thought that since it is an Assist-type Konsumable rather then a Sidekick-type, the game will let me pick it for my Noob Saibot so he could use it against Johnny, and that experimental battle, by pure coincidence, ended up being the winning battle.
3) The opponent's health bar in the Gauntlet Tower doesn't show any health being reduced while being hit, although they still take the damage, you just can't see it. This effect is actually still active after you do a Mercy on Sub-Zero (the final opponent in the Gauntlet), even though it will still show just 20% of his health.
NRS really did a very clever and unique challenge, and the reward for it is nothing short of excellent, as you will get a ton of Skins, Brutalities and Kombat Kard items for completing these Towers. So go and complete them now while you still can to receive the rewards.

A mysterious, brown-garbed ninja employed by the Black Dragon as an arms dealer, Tremor possesses the ability to manipulate the earth. He was broken out during a prison riot by Kano, but was seemingly killed by Jax. Notable for appearing in a spin-off as a boss, the creators of the series considered implementing him into the series as a playable fighter, but never seemed to get around to it during the original timeline despite heavy demand. Fans speculated this likely had to do with the nature of his origin, as Special Forces was ill-received and seemingly subject to due to a lack of references to it in later games, although Ed Boon refused to claim the brown ninja would never show up. However, come the reboot, Tremor unexpectedly showed up as a bonus character during Challenge Mode for the port of, sparking renewed interest in the character. Finally, revealed him as a DLC kharacter in his first fully playable appearance.

Warcube vsetop. Warcube is an incomplete game that is in PRE-alpha! Warcube will be in Early Access on Steam so that I can get it into the hands of players as soon as possible. So that Warcube can be the best hero-cube-medieval-action-adventure-slow-motion game. Wait, I’m not even sure if that’s a genre.

In this new timeline, the events of Special Forces are ignored and Tremor serves Kano as an enforcer and arms dealer during the events of MKX and its prequel comic, albeit with some tensions brewing between the two.: For a given measure considering he's a rock throwing juggernaut, but he has his moments. He apparently thinks Kitana is quite lovely, unironically likes Johnny Cage's movies, and will sometimes spout off cheesy one-liners after a Brutality or during his intros.:. He seems to be genuinely reluctant to fight Kitana, Sonya, and Cassie, even going so far as to offer the latter two to leave quietly, and sincerely respects Johnny Cage. He also compliments Jacqui on her gauntlets. Maybe bordering on. His intros with Bo' Rai Cho say he wants to ally with the drunken master.

Another intro has Bo' Rai Cho say he wishes to test Tremor before he can trust him, which Tremor accepts without any seeming hostility.: He started out as a boss in an obscure spin-off game, was promoted to a random 'bonus fighter' in the port of, and ended up a full-fledged playable character in MKX.: In large-scale battles, his ability to cause earthquakes can easily make a joint Shokan-Oni army lose their footing. And risk making collateral damage to nearby cities. Hence why Kano recalled him after a while and shot a handheld nuke at Kintaro's army.: While Mortal Kombat has no shortage of deep voiced guys, Tremor takes the proverbial cake in this regard.

His voice straight up sounds like his vocal cords are made out of stone.: If he's having a good day, he might give you a compliment before trying to kill you.: One of his interactions with Kitana in MKX implies he has a crush on her, d'aww.: Out of Kano's team in the MKX comic.: One of the biggest examples in the series. Despite appearing as a boss in a panned spin-off, Tremor gained a following demanding him to be playable unlike the other original characters, slowly building into a guest appearance in the PS Vita port of Mortal Kombat 9 before culminating in his playable debut as a DLC kharacter in MKX.: Tremor is a violent, musclebound weapons dealer who can make the earth tremble beneath him. He's also one of the only characters who likes Johnny's movies and sometimes says 'Let's rock!' After performing a Brutality.: His primary power set. As of MKX this extends to all earth based substances, including metals, crystals, and magma.: In the Kombat Pack for Mortal Kombat X.: Almost brings down Kotal Kahn's palace.: His Metallic variation in MKX shows that he also has control over metals in addition to stone.

It also allows him to turn into a.: Offers two of his enemies the chance to leave without fighting.: His Crystalline variation in MKX, which replaces the stones on his chest and forearms with a green crystalline substance that he can use to form shields or create his own stage interactables.: His voice is really gravelly.: One of his Fatalities in MKX involves using three stone spikes to impale his victim through the head, chest, and groin before he turns his hands into stone hammers and smashes their head apart. The brutality using his X-Ray just has him slam a rock through the enemy's gut and then impale them on a stalagmite through the midsection.: In his Metallic variation, he gains the Lava Skin special move, which grants many of his moves a lava effect.: Played with; in Special Forces many fans, including the series' creator, Ed Boon himself thought Tremor was Scorpion at first glance, due to the similar colors. This is referenced in MKX with Tremor accusing Scorpion of mimicking his appearance during their intro.: Or at least.: A bizarre example, see above.

His first appearance in 2000 was a few years after the series was trying the transition into 3D, when the games started to the ninja castmembers, but he is designed like them with a brown color scheme and his appearance in 9's portable version uses this appearance as well. X has since given him his own unique design.: in that he appears to shoot fireballs, though based on his elemental power it's actually.: In the Challenge Tower missions, he is presented as having a vendetta against Jax for besting him and for using him as an expendable pawn and leaving him for dead. In X during his intro with Kano, Tremor decides, but not before finishing Kano first.: His main ability; he can create earthquakes by punching the ground, like Jax. In issue 20 of the MK X comic he used this technique to decimate Kintaro's army.

After a while, Kano recalled him because he could risk making Z'Unkahrah fall.: According to his MKX arcade ending, he was responsible for acquiring a 'psych bomb' that Kano used in his snare for Raiden, forcing the god out of the picture while trying to undo its effects and weakening him before the finale.: His variations are, and. Metallic takes it further, controlling either metal (making his specials hit harder) or molten rock (which lets his specials burn enemies).:. Another of his abilities.

He can fire a stone missile that petrifies his opponent for a short duration. While he loses this ability in X, a few of his brutalities involve petrifying the opponent.: Goes from a earth-powered ninja with a decent amount of skill to a being with elemental powers on par with Raiden and Fujin.
