Grid Wars Ii Download
I have Geometry Wars for the 360, and I'm getting the Wii version of Galaxies, and played a decent bit of the superb DS version, but Grid Wars 2 does indeed surpass the proper versions because of one simple design change. The points a Black hole is worth increases exponentially with the more stuff it eats.

The link provided is not the developer's site, though, I don't think. This is the creator's site, I believe. Interestingly, this is posted there:
Sorry folks.. I've had to remove the link to the download.which may be why it's mirrored elsewhere.

Therefore, I'd like to ask you in an amicable fashion to stop infringing our IP and pull the game 'Grid Wars' from the internet for download.
I hope you understand and are able to do this without us having to take further steps.'

Nonsense. Robotron is still, more than two decades later, possibly my favorite game of all time (god what I wouldn't give to be able to play it again on an upright cabinet with those twin, chunky joysticks), and I play it with MAME all the damn time. The play mechanics are similar, somewhat, but saying the two games are entirely identical is like saying (to pick two random examples) F.E.A.R and Half Life 2 are entirely identical because they're both first person shooters. Pfui. [/gamegeek]

I'm stepping on your tiny little snarkpenis with thick, heavy-soled leather boots and laughing like a cartoon villain, because that's just how much I hate you (internetishly speaking).
Feel it.

Looks like the game was written in BlitzBasic. During my misspent youth, I would have given a great deal for a BASIC that could do stuff like this. Holy crap.

This is.
'We're beginning to feel the effects of the Geometry Wars clones on our sales via Microsoft now and are beginning a process to begin to more robustly protect our copyright and intellectual property.'
..which is almost funny, since their game is almost entirely derived from Robotron.

Indie game of the week: Alien Deathmatch 2December 18, 2008
Developed byReleasedPlatformPublished byPerspectiveSettingGenreGameplayVisualDescriptionAt Alphie's Galactic Bar and Grill humans are not welcome. According to house rules those who enter has to compete in an electronic game called Grid Wars. If the player wins, the reward is to buy drinks to everyone in the bar and if he loses he's thrown out.
There are fifteen levels in total each against one of the bar's customers.Grid Wars is a fixed screen shoot 'em up that is viewed from a slightly tilted perspective. The player's laser cannon, which can be moved left and right, is located beneath the grid and on the other side is the opponent. There are two types of enemies that move around the grid: the grid nasties and the grid walkers. The objective is to prevent the grid walkers from reaching the player's end while at the same time avoiding crashing into the grid nasties. In front of the player are shields that hinder the progress of the grid walkers but are destroyed when hit by the grid nasties.Three different weapons can be used by the player.
The main weapon is the laser cannon which works differently from other shoot 'em up in that projectiles are shot in a trajectory and not in a straight line. The two other weapons are torpedos which destroys all enemies in a grid row and vaporizers that destroy all grid nasties on the screen. These weapons are only available in a limited supply. To complete a level the player has to eradicate all the grid nasties. The game ends when a grid walker reaches the player's end of the grid or when all the three of the player's laser cannons are destroyed. From Mobygames.com.
